New version

Thanks for this update!

I'm switchin'

Awesome, I'm switching to RSSOwl as I type.

One question, though: I'm on WinXP, my default browser is Firefox 2.0, I have "use external browser" checked but the newstext of a newsfeed is still displayed in Internet Explorer (only when I click on a link within the newstext, the link opens in Firefox).
Is there a way to change that? Sorry if I'm I doing something wrong...

Thanks and, once again, great job.

Thanks for switching ;). As

Thanks for switching ;).

As for Firefox: We currently don't support Firefox to be used as internal Browser. There is research going on about embedding it. But this will yet take a while. Will let you all know once there is something happening in that direction.

Scroll focus

Is it possible to make the owl scroll the hovered part of the window and not the one that was clicked last?

For example after opening a favorite I have to click into its news list on the right to scroll it. That could be easier.

Yes this would be possible,

Yes this would be possible, however would break with common platform behavior. I did some experiments once and the only solution I come to was to automatically pass focus to the control that was below the mouse-cursor as soon as the mouse-wheel is scrolled. I could add this, but it would break with what people expect (on windows at least).

A thing for the preferences?

Would it be a solution to make it optional? I find this much more comfortable instead of always clicking the list I want to scroll. foobar2000 scrolls the hovered thing, not the clicked one.

I just gave the hack a try

I just gave the hack a try again and found about about nasty side-effects. E.g. the first scroll-event is always lost, since its passed to the focused Control and not the hovered one. I will keep an eye on this, and if it turns out that there is a working solution, enabling it by default.

Good Software Indeed

Is it possible to sort the news in received date on local machine even when the feed is without a DATE information ?
I got several of my feeds just ran out of order because RSSOwl keep using TITLE to deal with such feeds.

another trivial request maybe in hand that could set up pop-up notice settings for respective feeds? news sites like slashdot updates a lot and sometimes i just feel like to disable its heads-up only. :P

this stuff is good, keep going!

target="_blank"

When a Blog uses the target attribute to open links in new windows, RSSOwl opens the link a new tab (inside RSSOwl) instead of opening it in Firefox etc.

A little bit concentration on the browser preferences would be nice. ;-)

Old news unread?

It seems that in some feeds RSSOwl marks old, read articles as unread after some days. I thought it might be a problem of the feed, but Feedreader for example doesn’t mark them as unread.

OpenType

Sorry, another problem:

RSSOwl shuts down, when I choose an OpenType font for the text field (where the article is shown). For the lists on the left side and above the text field it takes OpenType without problems.
