RSSOwl 2.0 Milestone 6 is out!

We are happy to announce that the next milestone of RSSOwl 2.0 is now available for download. This release comes with some very cool features:
  • Live update of saved searches
  • Notification popup when receiving news
  • Faster search and relevance indicator

A flash demo showing the new features in action is available as well. If you have used previous versions of RSSOwl 2.0, make sure to read the notes on how to update to milestone 6.

milestone 6 installation?

Can't hide by noviate standing any longer. Have been using v1.2.3. Have followed the link "how to update to milestone 6", but do not see "how". Seems I place the folder "rssowl" in my app folder, since just replacing my old owl with the new owl isn't right. But then I have both versions available. Haven't seen the one-time, irreversible migration which notes on these pages have suggested I should see. How much don't I know I don't know? Thanks.

milestone 6 installation, again

Sorry, forgot my good manners. I (the noviate) am on osx 10.4.10, and Release5 of JavaForMacOSX10.4 Ok...I am confused here. I have J2SE5.0, but that's not what we're talking about here, is it? I have Java 1.3.1 (v10.0.2 and 1.4.2 (v11.5) plugins, probably for a good reason.

There is no update supported

There is no update supported from RSSOwl 1 to 2. The best way is to use the Import/Export feature to transfer your feeds. You can find it under the "File" menu.
