How to use Mozilla as Browser in RSSOwl?

Both RSSOwl 1.x and 2.x support Mozilla (XULRunner) as embedded browser on windows. Follow these steps to make it happen:
  • Download XULRunner
  • Execute "xulrunner --register-global" from the command line
That's it. From now on, RSSOwl will use XULRunner instead of the Internet Explorer. Ben

Excellent, hate IE, so

Unfortunately not.

Unfortunately not. Supporting plugins would be quite hard since XULRunner really has no relation to your Firefox install. The issue with the contextual menu is odd but there is no solution currently.

hmm i see

hmm i see
but XULRunner has to get firefox from somewhere?
maybe you can just copy your firefox settings to this directory or something...

XULRunner is totally

XULRunner is totally independent from Firefox its an own application being able to render HTML (and nothing more).

It doesn't work ...

I did unzip it, it seems to run from the command line, but I still have IE as a browser inside RSSOwl.

Did you restart RSSOwl? Did

Did you restart RSSOwl? Did you register XULRunner globally or for the current user?

Opening a link instead of Saving it?

Hi !
I have installed XULrunner and it's working fine... I just have one small problem... when I click on link it goes directly to save option. Is there possibility to register certain extensions to use 'Open' instead of 'Save As...', you know the same as with firefox?

Strange

Has this been fixed in the latest release?

I downloaded the package and ran it, and it opens up news in my Firefox. Strange!

If you encounter any issues

If you encounter any issues with RSSOwl 2 please post bugs at http://dev.rssowl.org

Thanks,
